A little trivia:
- The total cost of the mission is 1.4 billion Euro over 20 years, of which the total Philae costs are 220 Million Euro, according to ESA. This includes the launch, the spacecraft, the science payload (instruments and lander) and mission and science operations.
- It takes 28 minutes and 20 seconds this Wednesday for communications to reach Earth/Rosetta.
- The Rosetta spacecraft has already spend 10 years and 8 months in space. It was launched on March 2, 2004.
- Rosetta and the comet are going through space at 18km/second.
- Philae is descending towards the comet at 1m/second (3,5km/s)
