Since this is Apple's developer conference, we're not going to see much -- if any -- hardware. It's going to be a pretty software-focused show.
I wonder if the playlist we're listening to is actually iTunes Radio. haha
I'll be basically transcribing what the Apple execs say, while Dan Ackerman will provide some commentary. Tim Stevens is our handy photographer today, but he'll probably chime in with thoughts too. If we could all get our Internet working!
Apple has a couple iMacs set up on a table on the edge of the stage. We know we're going to hear about OS X today. Based on posters in the lobby, we're thinking it will be called Yosemite.
We're getting our warning to turn devices to silent. (Apple knows people are NOT going to be turning those phones off. haha).
Just wanted to say hello, everybody. I'm on photo duty, but as ever, you can hit me with your predictions at @Tim_Stevens. You know I love hearing 'em.
We should be getting going pretty soon. There are still some people standing around, but most have taken their seats.
FYI - Apple's stock isn't really doing much ahead of WWDC. It's off about half a percent, which is typical. The stock often drops following WWDC. "Sell on the news," or so analysts say.
The music is actually so loud right now that I can barely hear myself think. haha.
Now we have a Coldplay track playing.
We should be starting anytime now.
Alright. Lights are dimming and the crowd is cheering.
It's now super quiet. All we can hear is the end of the Coldplay song.
